For the second year, Houston’s largest poker club is raising the stakes against hunger this Thanksgiving. We’re inviting members to donate frozen turkeys and canned goods at Prime Social for our 2nd Annual Full House Feast food drive.
Players who bring in a frozen turkey with a receipt will have their donation matched in free time to play their favorite games. Members can also bring in 5 canned goods in exchange for a complementary daily fee. Members can donate through November 21st, with no limit on the amount of time matched.
Last Year’s Full House Feast
In 2019, the event collected dozens of Thanksgiving birds and hundreds of canned goods from Prime Social members and staff. The poker club teamed up with West Houston Assistance Ministries (WHAM) to distribute the donations to Houstonians in need. WHAM doubled the number of Thanksgiving meals provided to individuals in 2019 versus 2018 with help from Prime Social . This year, Prime Social hopes to increase that number again with help from its dedicated members.
The Full House Feast Turkey Drive has kicked off at Prime Social following a successful 10-day tournament series. The Lone Star Poker Series drew players from all around the country. This is the first holiday event for the poker club with a history of helping Houstonians. In the past, Prime Social has hosted its annual “All In” Toy Drive for underprivileged children and a Memorial Day fundraiser for veterans. In January, we helped “Restock the Shelves” of the Houston Food Bank. Prime had another opportunity to partner with WHAM when state shutdowns forced businesses closures back in March. Rather than waste hundreds of pounds of food, we provided fresh produce and dairy products to the pantry.
